My model is based of drawing from vasa museet 1980 . Model is 1:50. Frame is made from oak, paper rivets between the planks and deck of beech with black paper rivets. All sculptures are manually carved of pearl wood. Now all sculptures are oiled and I think if I should leave oiled...waxed or should I paint or put gold plating to some of them There is some sculptures left as canoe ports with lions, how it would be carved and of what wood pearl or box wood. I have started to build standing rigging, where I should need a lot of advices. . Attachments:

Hi Jormae, that looks really good! I would be tempted to paint the model in its true colors, but before you mess everything up - leave it as it is. You could try oiling a scrap piece of wood and then painting over it, just to see how the paint reacts to the oiled surface and then decide how to proceed further.
