Hi Everyone, This is not Vasa related but I thought it would be nice to share with you. I am building a carved two person bench (about 50" or 127cm long) that reflects Norse and Celtic styles of art. So far I have gotten to the point of carving the two ends. The front panel, backrest, and seat will also be heavily carved. The seat will have a continuous hinge on it, and we will be able to store things in it. The bottom and lower back will be plain boards, since not many will really see that part of it. I think I will also upholster parts of it, and have a padded seat that can be raised or lowered in order to make either comfortable. (But not too comfortable so that a person could fall asleep in it while reading). It will also probably be possible for a short person to use it as a bed. It is a big project, but I think it will be very nice when complete. Here is a link to some pictures on my website: sites.google.com/site/clayton707/carvedbenchEnjoy! Clayton

Amazing work! I am a true fan of oriental and celtic art (they have nothing in common, except for they base on nature), and i listen to a lot of music (i recommend Adrian Von Ziegler on youtube), so I just think this is fantastic, and if, maybe, you try to paint it, it will look awesome! Keep up the good work!! Nice carving by the way

Thanks George!
I don't think it will be painted. I will just finish by sanding and adding several coats of polyeurathane.

Hi Clayton a real Masterpiece! Looks like the bench is of celtic provenience. At the video I missed a picture of your family sitting on the bench Alexander

Thank you! At Alexander's request. The boy is our two year old son Magnus, and the first picture has my wife Amy in it. Merry Christmas!
