Hi Jan,
Looking at picture "First figures for the galley adjusted and mounted" of 2/1/2014 1:16PM. The figures seem to span from bottom to top of the tower. I thought the figures span about 2/3 from the bottom and a sort of thin vine then continues to a top cupola. Am I seeing your picture correctly?

most of the figure are now fixed, I know these are not 100% correct, and I made some mistakes, but I like this configuration.

The gunport (doors) are painted, sorted the lionheads and placed them on the ports as dryfit.

finally all figures on the bow section mounted, and the last pictures on the stern, including an extra wooden strip below the lions

started with the ruder, I replaced the standard plywood with wallnut and I finished these chains using a glue (Stabilit)
