It's awfully quiet here. I am starting to get worried. Are you just having a very long vacation or is work getting in the way of the building? I would love to see some more pictures of your progress. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Jules, yeah I know. There's been lot's of things going on for me, and I had to take a break from the Vasa build. Now I've started again and here is an update:
Here's the deadeyes, chainplates and channels for the main mast. I reshaped all the deadeyes to look like the wonky originals. I also made metal parts surrounding them. It was some work, so now I'm happy to start some other work before startng the next mast.
Hey everyone! I'm moving on with the rigging. Main mast shrouds are installed, as are the bowsprit. Actually it was some work to get the ropes holding it this way, as the BB kit is not designed for the ropes to run through two holes sitting beneath the beakhead. The clamps holding the ropes are also made.
I also made the mainstay collar. After a heads up from Fred I tried to base it on the real ship not the 1:10 or other suggestions like Landströms.
