I read from time to time about Vasa I and about ship plans from the Vasamuseet. I notice the Vasamuseet does not appear to have an online store - is there a way to purchase these items from abroad?

You can purchase Vasa I from our distributor, Oxbow Books (Casemate in the USA), and they are accessible on line. The ship plan sets are no longer available on paper, since we have decided not to reprint them. We are in the process of producing an entirely new set of drawings based on a thorough digital documentation of the ship. The old modeler's plans are avalaible as PDFs from me - I will find a way to post them here so that everyone can get them.

Hi Fred,
Would be great to have the 'old' modeler's plans available digitally as PDF.
Any ideas on when the new set of plans will be available?
Thanks,
Jules

The old plans are available as PDFs, for those who still want them. If we had a spot here I would be glad to post them. I anticipate it will be a few years before the new ones are complete, since they will be much more comprehennsive (it should be possible to build a new ship from them).

I'd love the old plans in PDF format - moderators/administrators, any way that can be done?

Hi Matti,
If it helps: I am able to download your PDF 'Referenshantering enligt APA-stilen'.
I think what Fred means is that the maximum attachment size is 1 MB and that his PDF's are too big to simply add as an attachment. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Regards,
Jules

Sorry, just saw this! There could be an attachment limit. I can look into it.
Another alternative would be to write Fred via email and request them that way.

Yup, attachment limit is 1MB. We could upgrade that for money though.

I would pitch in for more MB's. It would be of help to some members for posting more pictures too.

We could try doing a cost share thing on more memory and axing the ads. But I am not sure how exactly we would go about splitting it up.

Clayton/Matti,
How much $ for the first year of more memory? I might be able to pay for the first 12 months and we will figure out how to split after that. I suggest let the ads stay since they do no harm.

The PDF format I have has files sizes for the seven sheets between 300 kb and 1.4 MB. One of the smaller ones is below, to give you an idea of resolution in this size. I think that this is too small a file to be useful to modellers, but that is up to the user. Fred 2_b sidovy.pdf (428.18 KB)
