Nice, and thanks for sharing! I have always liked visiting Skansen.
I just did very similar repairs on much more modern windows on our house. Remove old rotten wood (and typically it was on the lower end of the window where water accumulates more) and replace it with new wood, and seal the joint. I tended to use treated lumber for the replaced bits though...
Will probably replace the windows in their entirety sometime in the future, but this makes them last a little longer.

Yeah, I also fixed some fence parts around my house this way to make it last a little longer before replacing.
When walking around that area of Skansen I realised that it's the boatsmens quarters used in the Vasa film, and it's perfect for it.
