In 1978 I was able to visit the Vasa for the first time. At that time the Vasa was called still "Wasa" and according to this, the shipyard "Wasavarvet".
From this initial experience, which had awakened the desire to build a model in me, I 've taken a number of slides. Meanwhile, these images have even a certain historical charm.
It was possible to see much more of the constuction, because of the many gaps in the planking providing insights. It was also possible to get closer to the ship. Last but not least the lighting was brighter than the new Vasamuseet.
